About Hollin

Hollin Thompson, MS, RD, LD is based in East Texas. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutritional Sciences from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2019. She then jumped straight into a distance track combined program at Marywood University where she completed her dietetic internship and a Master of Science degree in Nutrition in 2021. Her desire from the beginning was to have a career that involved merging her love for both nutrition and being physically active herself. She comes from a background where she has always prioritized her overall health including her dietary habits and movement. She relocated during grad school to gain sports nutrition experience with Texas Christian University athletics as a summer Sports Nutrition Intern where she ended up staying on through football camp which altogether resulted in a year interning with TCU's sports nutrition department. This is when she developed a desire to work with football specifically. Ultimately, her intern experience opened up the door for her to take on the position as a Fueling Station Manager for an additional two years serving all TCU athletes. She made hundreds of recovery smoothies for post-lifts and perfected many skills during her time at TCU such as inventory management, ordering, and restocking. She assisted the Director of Sports Nutrition during her last semester working at TCU specifically with the baseball team regarding their pre-fuel. Hollin also has experience working with the Dallas Cowboys where she helped fuel the team during the off-season period which entailed spending a month in California for training camp as well as working a pre-season game in Seattle. Shortly after this opportunity, she became the first ever Director of Sports Nutrition at her alma mater, SFASU where she began to build a program from scratch. Hollin passed her board exam to become a Registered Dietitian in November 2023 right before beginning her role at SFASU. She did many team talks for all sports ranging from bowling to football as well as one-on-one consults. She is now focusing on getting back to her true passion of sports nutrition, educating athletes on the importance of proper fueling to meet their performance goals as well as the physical and mental demands their sport requires in order to perform optimally and feel their best. After working with collegiate D1 and professional athletes, she sees there is a strong need in her area to serve the youth who desire to go to the next level and give them access to sports nutrition locally as well as individuals on fitness journeys who are looking to better their nutrition habits. She sees herself with a future career in private practice. She enjoys working with athletes of all sports, but focuses closely on football, baseball and eating disorders.
